Movement for Childbirth

Erica has a wealth of knowledge and experience that enables her to support women to  know, trust and move their bodies during pregnancy. The body awareness women develop through Erica’s positive guidance undoubtedly increases their confidence and enhances their labour and birth experience.

Mindful Movement for Childbirth - Women's Workshop

Develop techniques and explore movement that will support you to birth with confidence. We will cover movement and positions that women naturally adopt to cope with the intensity of the birthing experience. 

Childbirth encompasses a wide range of experiences; there is a time for inner focus and mindful breathing, and there is a time to "lose it" and let our bodies lead us through the storm. 

This workshop is informative, fun and will give you a very clear picture of the nitty gritty of birthing.  ​​It is especially suited to women planning a natural and active birth.  

This class is for women only, if you would like a class where your partners also attend, then come to the Birth Partner Workshop!

Mindful Movement for Childbirth -
Couples Workshop

Couples Workshops are currently run as part of the Homebirth Focus Antenatal Classes.  If you do not wish to attend that full workshop, you can arrange a private session.

Bookings are through Homebirth Antenatal Classes.

This interactive workshop for women and their birthing partners will cover lots of practical ideas and tips to support you in planning your birth. 

Any birth attendant can come along with you - whether this be your partner, a relative or a friend. 

We will cover the following work:
  • Familiarising ourselves with the way women look and sound during childbirth.
  • Labour etiquette - the do's and don'ts!
  • How to support the transition to "labour land".
  • What a woman may need in childbirth eg, hydration, food, massage, privacy, change of scenery.
  • Physical support in a variety of positions.
  •  How to support the use of breath during labour.

Private Sessions

If the above dates do not work for you - I am able to do private sessions to suit you timetable.  These sessions cater to your personal questions and interest in movement and mindfulness for childbirth.

​Cost is $80 for one hour - partners are welcome. 

Pregnancy Yoga

Regular pre-natal yoga classes are a great way to be fit in body and mind for your labour.  Mindful Movement often work with Grassroots Yoga and Health and we highly recommend their prenatal yoga classes. Visit their website for bookings and information.
